"Milton and a Shadow" is a published book about a boy who is haunted by a scary Shadow. The Shadow makes him angry and keeps him from doing things that are good for him (like brushing his teeth or going to school). Mother helps the boy deal with the Shadow, and so the scary monster turns into a cute friend in the end.
